Maintaining momentum and perseverance can be tough. Falling off of the bandwagon may seem like the easier option sometimes, but this couldn’t be further from the truth. You’re doing yourself a disservice and soon you’ll realise that giving up or doing things half-hearted will soon be a decision of regret. Chin up, it doesn’t have to be difficult to keep up the good work! Here are three ways that make keeping your work in check as easy as ABC.
Numero uno. Write everything down. And I mean everything. Personally, I’ve found writing down every single thing I do in a day, from the moment I wake up until I sleep, is the most effective way in smashing tasks. In a calendar, I input time dedicated to work (including personal), filming content, blog content, meals, exercise, breaks – even things that seem insignificant. Since doing this, I’ve noticed a huge difference in how much I get done in a day because I know how long I am to spend on something to make sure everything else gets done too. I recommend using a digital calendar so that you can access it on all of your devices- anytime, anywhere. Writing things down holds you more accountable to complete each task. I feel awful when I haven’t done a task I’ve written down to do, so I try to avoid this at all costs or otherwise, I dwell on the fact that it could have been one less thing to do tomorrow perhaps.
Next up; deadlines. If you’re someone who works better under pressure, this one is for you. Not having a definitive end to a task/job can lead to procrastination. If this is prolonged, it can lead to detrimental habits which won’t serve you any benefits. Set reasonable deadlines so that you are more likely to meet them and stick with this.
Last but not least, rewards (my favourite). Make work exciting and start affiliating work with treats and goodies. Rewards can be anything – shiny new shoes, sugar-ridden food or that top you’ve had your eye on for weeks – it’s totally up to you! Use the possibility of your next chosen reward running out of stock (for example) as a driving force to get things done faster. Have fun with it- life is about balance after all!
Bish! Bash! Bosh! Just like that, you can bid all that dilly-dallying farewell! Try one or try all! One thing for sure is that giving up is never the option and that not everyday has to be perfect- even small steps are progress. You can do anything you set your mind to. Put your all in and get your prize in the end!
