Hampshire born and London living, Alexa Chung, is a much beloved gem in the eyes of many fashion-hungry Brits. Juggling many hats of talent, Chung dons yet another from her multifaceted list, as a fashion designer to her own clothing brand that goes by the name of – you guessed it – Alexachung.
Let us first talk about the beauty behind the operations; Chung herself. In addition to calling the shots of her own label, writer, presenter and model are all synonymous with the star. Her distinctive personal style and witty personality leaves little imagination in understanding why she has become the muse to many. Often seen in the front row of fashion shows, the British female powerhouse, also became a contributing editor to British Vogue in 2009, and throughout her career has appeared in numerous hit tv shows. Impressive, right?
All of this begs the question, what can Alexa Chung not do? Although a good question, don’t look here- I haven’t come up with anything either.
Moving on to Alexachung, the brand. Launched in 2017, the British label states to “create clothes that people want to wear. Combining Parisian chic with a New York edge, as well as the very British sense of humour, it is inspired by everything from Jane Birkin’s insouciance to David Hockney’s stripy sweater”. If for some very odd reason that isn’t enough to captivate you, I have two words for you. Tough critic. The garments ooze the signatures of high fashion and luxury, with evidence for this across the brand’s classy, retro prints, savvy high necks, and collaboration line with Barbour, a quintessentially British brand that is – quite literally – fit for royalty. The pieces speak for themselves in the most eloquent of ways, and the timeless nature of the brand’s offerings brings an effortless sophistication to life.
With all of this being said, I think it is safe to say that Alexachung, may quite notably represent a reflection of its female fashion designer, in being a true embodiment of high-brow charm. Now that’s all out of the way, anyone fancy lending me £175 to get my hands on one of those high necks I was talking about? I wouldn’t ask if it weren’t important. Thanks in advance.
